Our mission is to empower Native American communities by providing resources, support, and advocacy that promote self-determination, cultural preservation, and economic opportunity.  For example, we distribute food, medical supplies, firewood, water, blankets, towels, cleaning supplies, and other necessary items.

We envision a future where Native American Indian communities thrive, and their rich cultures and traditions are respected and celebrated.  Through our work, we strive to build a world where Native American Indians have access to the resources they need to live healthy, prosperous, and fulfilling lives.

The need is great.  The Navajo (Diné) people of Sweetwater survive without the luxury of running water, electricity, heating, and plumbing.  No grocery store or emergency service for miles.  School buses pick up children while it's still dark.  They sometimes ride for hours, bouncing on dirt roads just to get to school and back.  It's dark when they return home.

Sweetwater Outreach has been a family effort for several generations.  At first, we had only a tent.  Now we are constructing an up-to-code building that we work out of to help the community.  We provide this building at no cost for funerals, weddings, emergency meetings, classes, and ministry services.  We are a non-denominational organization, partnering with others to promote healing within the community.
